Green Beach Resort

Our week long base camp, at the Green Beach Resort, is coming to a close as we fly north to Chiang Mai in the morning. It has been a week full of variety. Before I get into the details, I'll describe this amazing resort. First the exceptional reception and management begins long before you arrive;
  • The email discussion and coordination of arrangements (including the transport to and from Phuket) was exceptional.
  • The care began with the first email and continued throughout our stay.
  • The bungalows are comfortable and close to the beach.
  • The on-site restaurant was very good and served Thai and European style foods.
  • The rooms were very well cleaned and replenished with towels and water.
  • Air conditioning and fans allowed for good sleeps.
Looking North-West shows the restaurant, some bungalows, and the beachside massage platform.
Full Thai massage has been a part of my travels here ever since the beginning. To me it is like a hybrid yoga-massage, where the body-worker takes control of your body and presses it, walks on it, twists it, manipulates it with healthy perfection. Green Beach Resort massage was no different.

Always the best place to get a massage is by the beach with wind and waves as the ambiance.
Ok, now I will discuss the full week of variety. The variety was mostly health related, where it quickly started with all our sleep deprevation and continued into two of us going down with a gastro. 36 hours of bowel pain. Then another day of motion sickness as we travelled to the Surin Islands and then some sea sickness the next day as we snorkelled. Once we got back to our Grean Beach resort we had some more stomach upset. And then as we go for our last swim, Lisa steps on a sea urchin buried in the sand... intense pain! and a trip to the local drop-in clinic. In the big picture... we are doing great, and when you consider how much international travel we have done as a family. This week of medium level physical discomfort was long overdue.
