Back to Mae Rim

Outstanding to be back to Mae Rim for another Christmas and New Years with the family. Last time we were here was five years ago, and it seems to becoming as memorable as the our previous visit. Not that I care to compare, but there is a peacefulness and interest to Mae Rim. Things have changed, and things have stayed the same. Our accommodations, Baan Rai Tin Thai Ngarm, has many more facilities than five years ago, and our hosts Khun Penom and Khun Petchara are as gracious as I can remember. The community is growing, many new buildings are being built, and many places for us to visit and get some food or a delicious coffee.

Today we borrowed some bicycles and rode the 4.5 km loop from our accommodations and back. Last time we made the same ride it was a gravel road with smaller bikes. Things seemed less dangerous this time and took 15 minutes less. A bicycle glides so much better on new pavement. I look forward to the next week in our northern Thailand retreat.
