The importance of reflection

Today we spent the day wondering around the Chiang Mai Zoo. It is by far the best zoo I have ever visited. This is mostly due to the great variety of animals and the closeness you can get within the habitats they have created for the animals. I believe all this is available due to the physical and weather environment available in Chiang Mai.

This is also the second time I have visited this zoo. The first time was three and one half years ago when I was in Chiang Mai to meet and have my adopted son Kai join our family. Upon reflection, during my first visit Kai (or Nong S as he was then known) was still very much his foster parents and nannies child. During this second visit he was very much a part of our family. Though the tie between Kai and his nannies is very strong, and really he now has family in Canada and Thailand (and due to soon changing lives; Burma and UK). I believe all our lives have been enriched through the wonderful being known as Kai.
